American Prospect’s Patrick Caldwell blames Congress for gun hold up

People are still so angry at the Senate for defeating several gun control measures yesterday that at least one didn’t blame the NRA first for a holdup in D.C. today. Angry gun control proponents yesterday accused the Senate of having blood on its hands, and even though no one was reported hurt in this incident, Congress made it possible, somehow, according to American Prospect writing fellow Patrick Caldwell.

If only that were illegal. RT @patwcaldwell: Per DC police, someone was held up at gun point on my block this afternoon. Fuck you Congress.

@charlescwcooke @patwcaldwell Exactly! Congress should pass a law making armed robbery illegal. If they don’t, then #shameonthem!

— equitusB (@equitusB) April 18, 2013

@charlescwcooke @patwcaldwell There should be a law!

— T. Becket Adams (@BecketAdams) April 18, 2013

@patwcaldwell Congress should ban robberies.

@patwcaldwell Congress voted to make armed muggings legal!? When did this happen?

— James Fiorvento(@NJFiorvento) April 18, 2013

@charlescwcooke @patwcaldwell Yeah.. When are they going to outlaw guns in DC..

— adeles (@adeleshiv) April 18, 2013

DC gun laws very weak, yes? RT @patwcaldwell Per DC police, someone was held up at gun point on my block this afternoon. Fuck you Congress.

— CJ Ciaramella (@cjciaramella) April 18, 2013

@cjciaramella DC doesn’t exist in a vacuum. guns are easy to get in neighboring states, hence the need for national policy.

— Patrick Caldwell (@patwcaldwell) April 18, 2013

@patwcaldwell assume there’s a national policy banning all guns. Why doesn’t this logic then apply to Canada & Mexico? #fail.

Mexico? It’s not like guns just walk across the border, right?
