Chef Mark Alan Scott Combines Passion With Forte in Recipe Book

British Columbia, Canada (PRWEB) July 14, 2014

Chef Mark Alan Scott has been a great chef for 30 years and has found that one of his passions is making simple yet delicious soups. He is a fan of football and soccer, and has been an avid follower of the FIFA World Cup. As the 2014 World Cup is fast approaching, Chef Scott comes up with “The World Cup of Soups,” a cookbook that displays both his passion for football and something that he is really good at—cooking.

Soups have been the strongest part of Scott’s cooking. In “The World Cup of Soups,” he introduces an interesting twist to his forte to entertain readers. The thirty-two qualifiers are featured in the cookbook, each with its own recipe. To name a few, the sumptuous Black Bean and Chicken Soup was created for Brazil, Groundnut and Chicken Soup for Cameroon, Dutch Potato and Bacon Soup for Netherlands, Spicy Seafood Soup for Chile and Caldo Gallego for the number one team, Spain.

Scott’s soups use homemade stocks, vegetables, garlic and pepper. Scott’s original concept was to do a cookbook of soups strictly from the teams that qualified, but later on, he decided to include information about making stocks in order to make these soups as tasty as possible. All his soups, except for one, are of the cooked nature. The only cold soup in the book is for the brilliant Spanish National Team that won two European championships and the last World Cup.

The premise of “The World Cup of Soups” is to celebrate the greatest sporting event in the world. These recipes were also collated to encourage football fans and soccer enthusiasts who are also soup lovers to have fun making the best soup concoctions from all over the world. Scott invites readers to prepare one recipe at a time, for nothing warms a chilly day like a bowl of flavorful soup.
